Training and Deployment Engineer, Lead

In this position, you will manage the team personnel who provide Training, Deployment, Help Desk, and Release Management activities for the program. You will oversee the development and delivery of training programs to live audiences and stand-up classroom instruction, oversee the management of deployment and rotation schedules for CONUS and OCONUS support staff, and coordinate the Release Management and help desk team personnel.

As the team’s Training and Deployment lead, you’ll coordinate multiple different aspects of the program including in-person and remote instruction for and to our clients through live instruction, organize the release and deployment processes, and oversee the help desk team. You’ll expand your technical expertise and industry knowledge and collaborate to devise creative solutions for mission-critical problems.

You Have: 

  • 9+ years of experience in delivering system and software updates, testing, troubleshooting, systems administration, or systems engineering
  • Experience with programming languages, including Python, Go, Java, or C/C++, Operating Systems, including Linux, Unix, Windows, Windows Server, or Kali, and networking technologies, including Cisco, Juniper, TCP/IP, DNS, CDN, NAT, Load Balancer, and VPNs
  • Ability to manage automated application deployment that leverages container technology through a complex cloud-based environment through tools, including Kubernetes, GitLab, and CI/CD tools and technologies
  • Ability to set priorities for technical deployment teams by managing release schedules, developing verification plans, and managing their execution, including test and production and field site shakedown and verification in order to address unexpected issues, and perform baseline, unit or integration, component, and regression level testing in support of continuous deployment operations
  • Ability to manage SLAs and geographically dispersed tiered support teams, including Help Desk, Site Reliability Ops, and proper escalation procedures to appropriate staff, lead incident response, and oversee collaborative debugging for large-scale distributed IaC across disparate environments
  • Ability to support maintenance and compliance with security requirements, including ATO and cATO
  • Knowledge of OCO and DCO mission requirements to anticipate delivery risks that would impact the mission before they occur, formulate proper risk mitigations, and ensure no operational downtime
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product teams on delivering key releases, formulate program delivery standards, and continuously optimize delivery pipeline for continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have: 

  • 5+ of experience with the operational methodologies
  • Knowledge of DoD testing and training policy directives​ 
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Engineering, Software Architect, Information Systems, or Vulnerability Research and Exploitation

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
