Key Role:
Work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment to assist with the technical program management of research and development (R&D) efforts for a DoD agency. Draw on deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise to advise clients in multiple areas, including epigenetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, biomaterials, or microbiology with a particular emphasis on marine environments. Provide strategic assessments of novel scientific discoveries and emerging technologies for a larger client portfolio. This position is located in Arlington, VA.
Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience with research in epigenetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, marine biology, or microbiology, including time as a graduate student
-Experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for both technical and non-technical audiences
-Ability to display multiple first-author contributions to peer-reviewed papers or patents
-Ability to explain and present complex scientific concepts to a broad audience
-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-PhD degree
Additional Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience with postdoctoral academic or industrial research
-Experience with marine biology, ecology, or coral biology
-Experience with science and technology policy
-Possession of excellent scientific writing skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Active Secret clearance
-PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or Marine Biology
