Communications Specialist, Senior

Key Role:

Support an Army client and project team in the development and implementation of innovative strategic communications and outreach programs and initiatives designed to engage program employees, partners, and stakeholders proactively. Leverage experience to create original content to assist with organizational change, including talking points, leadership messaging, press releases, media alerts, Website content, speeches, briefings, newsletters, emails, feature articles, social media content, and schedules. Communicate with all levels of the organization and prepare and deliver briefings to senior executives and General Officers. Manage and maintain the organization's digital presence, including content strategy and development. Initiate and maintain client relationships, anticipate and identify client issues and concerns, and propose advice to achieve leadership objectives. Apply excellent oral and written communication expertise that reflects an ability to clarify complicated issues, simplify technical subject matter, and target messages for diverse audiences. Interview subject matter experts and develop an original approach, messaging, and branding. Provide guidance, direction, and work assignments to junior staff.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in the strategic communication field, including change management, public affairs, content development, social media implementation, and tactical communications and marketing
  • Experience with writing and editing material in a journalistic style
  • Experience working in an Army or DoD environment
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to support multiple initiatives concurrently, balancing resources and time to meet iterative requirements and changing priorities
  • Ability to translate complex or technical information and ideas into compelling communication products with clear and comprehensible language
  • Ability to work with senior government officials under tight deadlines and translate ideas and concepts into professional communication products
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with using a Content Management System, including Joomla! or WordPress
  • Experience with Web graphics, social media, and online marketing
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Piwik, or Web traffic measurement platforms
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal skills
  • Master's degree in Communications, Information Sciences, or Marketing

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
