The Opportunity: 

As a programmer, you know that machine learning is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct statistical analyses on business processes using ML techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve to support military decision making. As a machine learning engineer on our Innovation Engine team, you’ll train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data.  

In this role, you’ll contribute to the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and technologies. You’ll grow within a large community of machine learning engineers across the firm and collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and software engineers to deliver world-class solutions to ML algorithms, and systems. Your consulting skills and technical experience will help your clients navigate the landscape of ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks.

You Have:  

  • 3+ years of experience within building machine learning focused infrastructure, MLOps or DevOps, or an application development role

  • 2+ years of experience with machine learning engineering

  • 2+ years of experience with container tools, including Docker or Rancher

  • 2+ years of experience with deploying Kubernetes in a platform or cloud offering, including GCP, AWS, or Azure

  • Knowledge of container networking, monitoring, and storage solutions

  • Ability to develop infrastructure-as-code, including activities around the automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, or monitoring and testing, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)

  • Secret clearance  

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience with developing in Java, Python, or Go and with the design, deployment, and management of Cloud environments, including AWS or Azure

  • Experience with using or migrating continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipeline solutions or tools, including Gitlab

  • Experience with system integration using a variety of protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML

  • Experience with scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby

  • Experience with leveraging JSON, YAML, or XML for configuration

  • Knowledge of Linux or UNIX administration and automation and foundational system administration principles

  • Knowledge of classified environment processes and protocols

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Kubernetes Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
