Renewable Energy Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Perform detailed engineering analysis of client's energy resilience gaps and present solutions. Apply advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction. Mentor and supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with requirements development, specification, and design of large-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, biomass, or fuel cells
  • Experience with producing design documentation for renewable energy projects, including electrical single line diagrams and site layout diagrams
  • Experience with performance modeling of renewable energy technologies
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, OneDrive, Visio, and SharePoint
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in power systems engineering 
  • Experience in Microgrid Design
  • Experience with natural gas generation technologies, including reciprocating internal combustion engine, combustion turbine, combined heat, and power
  • Knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC), ASHRAE standards, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), NEC, NFPA, or IEEE
  • Knowledge engineering software including EasyPower, SKM, ETAP, and other engineering design tools
  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Certification
  • Register Professional Engineer or Engineer In Training Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
