As an expert in defense missions, your unique background and experience enable you to think critically, challenge assumptions, and drive innovative solutions. We need your extensive knowledge of East Asia’s strategic landscape and your analytic skills to help shape U.S. competition planning and defense strategy. Your expertise will contribute to the development of strategies that keep our nation ahead in an increasingly complex global environment.

As a Strategic Analyst, you will bring your strategic, analytical, and defense policy expertise to a critical role supporting long-range planning and defense strategy. Working alongside thought leaders in strategic planning, defense transformation, and net assessments, you will leverage your deep knowledge of East Asia’s military, economic, and geopolitical posture to evaluate strategic-level trends, develop diagnostic net assessments, and contribute to competitive strategies aimed at countering influence and ensuring U.S. superiority.

You will provide insight into military modernization, coercive tactics, and regional ambitions to help inform U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) competition planning. Your work will be crucial in identifying areas where the U.S. can gain a competitive edge in strategic defense and counter growing influence on the global stage.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in East Asian strategic analysis or defense research, including with U.S. national security and military competition planning
  • Experience working with or for the Air Force, DoD, Joint Staff, or Combatant Commands on matters of strategic defense and military competition
  • Experience with diagnostic net assessments, defense transformation, or competitive strategies
  • Knowledge of East Asian military capabilities, economic strategies, political objectives, and geopolitical maneuvers
  • Ability to analyze East Asian language sources, policy documents, and communications
  • Ability to conduct multidisciplinary analysis of East Asian military, economic, and diplomatic strategies and integrate these insights into U.S. defense planning
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master’s degree in a Defense and Strategic Studies, Defense Economics, Intelligence, or East Asian Studies field

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
