Strategic Communications Specialist

As a Communications Professional, you know how to inform and engage key audiences and help promote an organization’s desired reputation. We’re looking for an experienced communications specialist like you, who is ready to share your knowledge and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you’ll use your consulting skills and experience to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports the Navy.

As a Communications Specialist on our team, you’ll develop creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to assess how communications will impact business processes and technology. You will develop and design to develop a communications plan, change strategy, and strategic communications roadmap for some of the most senior executives in the Navy.

As the organizational advisor of all aspects of verbal and written communications, you’ll oversee and author factsheets, briefs, talking points, newsletters, articles, email messages social media content. Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your client to inform key audiences through words and images. From unrealized potential to systemic challenges, you’ll provide your client with a holistic view of their organization to transform their practices for the better. You Have:   

  • 10+ years of experience serving in various operational and management roles in a professional work environment

  • 5+ years in chief of staff role or action officer role for senior government clients

  • 5+ years of experience developing senior executive service (SES) and executive leadership communications materials and content in support of key strategic initiatives and promoting executive priorities throughout the organization

  • 5+ years of experience supporting organizational outreach programs, including development of marketing materials, coordination of conference planning activities, attending conferences as an organizational representative, and facilitating conference activities, including engagement zones and speaking engagements

  • 5+ years of experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans in support of critical organizational programs and initiatives, including stakeholder analyses, key themes and messages, engagement strategies, and performance measures

  • 5+ years of experience with Public Affairs, including coordinating, developing, and managing communications and engagements with external stakeholders

  • 3+ years of experience with technical editing of corporate communications materials and documentation

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite to develop briefs, briefing memos, talking points, and marketing materials and create, maintain, and update SharePoint pages to manage and implement knowledge management strategies

  • Secret clearance 

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:   

  • 5+ years of experience managing corporate web presence, including content management and development and web design

  • Experience in graphic design

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
