AWS DevSecOps Engineer

The Opportunity:

Efficient software development teams make the most of their time by limiting the activities that take them away from writing their code, and public health practitioners away from creating the next innovative model to help outbreak predictions. We’re looking for someone like you to work on platform development projects in the public health space. You’ll be creating a new platform designed to support this challenge in a secure and automated manner, aiding the client’s mission to collaborate globally.  

 

As a DevSecOps Engineer, you’ve worked with containerization, containerization orchestration and security, and platform operations. You’ve used Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure, and you know the benefits of containerization and container orchestration tooling, including Docker Swarm or Kubernetes. On our team, you’ll use your knowledge and experience deploying Batch compute, Kubernetes clusters, Docker, and containerization tools across clouds in support of multiple applications.

You Have:   

  • 3+ years of experience with deploying applications running in containers to a Batch environment or Kubernetes cluster in AWS with container orchestration 

  • 3+ years of experience with containerization, orchestration, and tools, including AKS, EKS, Docker, AWS, or Azure Functions   

  • Experience with using Kubernetes deployment tools, including Helm and Kubernetes Operators  

  • Experience with supporting GitHub Action runners deployments into cloud-based environments and the CI build environment 

  • Experience with supporting applications running in a containerized environment  

  • Experience with troubleshooting and triaging cloud services, using monitoring and logging tools  

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps best practices and event driven architectures

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements  

  • HS diploma or GED

 

Nice If You Have:     

  • Experience with provisioning and managing infrastructure and applications on Azure   

  • Experience with writing in PowerShell, Python, Rust, Typescript, or Go programming languages   

  • Experience with R or Nextflow   

  • Experience with GitHub Workflows and GitHub Actions  

  • Experience with migrating applications to Kubernetes 

  • Experience with Kubernetes Admissions Controllers  

  • Experience with supporting implementation of event driven architecture

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
