AFSIM Modeling & Simulation Analyst, Lead

Key Role:

Lead a team performing multi-domain kill chain analytical assessments to support defining system requirements, identifying interdependencies, and evaluating system-of-system concepts’ combat effectiveness in operationally relevant scenarios and vignettes. Coordinate with weapon system developers, system program offices, the operational community, and the intelligence community to assess the combat effectiveness of future combat system concepts. Apply engineering judgement combined with subject matter expert opinions to fully define the concept and its integration into the planned future force structure to perform the analytical analysis. Identifies and assesses potential Concepts of Employment and Concepts of Operation (CONEMPS/CONOPS). Develop analysis matrix and identify measures of merit applicable to the concept of interest.  Develop concepts within the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM) simulation framework, verifying its performance against stated capability description documents. Execute the analysis matrix, capturing simulation outputs and post-processing the data to transform raw simulation results into key analytical insights.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience performing analytical M&S assessments

  • 2+ years of experience performing constructive analyses in the AFSIM framework, including use of the IDE and post-processing tools

  • Experience with developing simulation models of modern US and threat multi-domain combat weapon systems

  • Experience with performing M&S assessments in areas of Electronic Warfare missions, Cyber Operations, or Space (Earth orbit operations)

  • Ability to lead execution of an analysis task from cradle to grave to include formulate analysis plan and work breakdown structure, delegate and oversee staff tasking, lead compilation of results and present to customer within schedule and budget constraints

  • Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with modeling each component of a kill chain, including find, fix, target, track, engage, and assess

  • Experience with a UNIX or Linux command-line environment, including shell scripting

  • Knowledge of aerodynamic systems, orbital mechanics, signal processing, sensor systems or integrated air defense systems (IADS)

  • Ability to multi-task across several analytical activities

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Master's degree
