Data Modeler and Database Analyst, Lead

The Challenge:

We need you to bring your expertise to empower the AIR Force to integrate aircraft logistics data at the Depot level.

As a client-facing data analyst on our integration team, you’ll partner with your clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you provide a deep understanding of their data, you’ll also advise your client on what the information means and how it can be used to make an impact on the US Air Force Logistics systems of the future. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.

How You’ll Contribute:

As a data analyst on our team, you’ll:

  • Share your data analytics expertise with team members to support client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Research, develop, and test data methodologies, and generate cross-functional solutions through the analysis of existing logistics data sets.
  • Lead impactful work and guide decision-making across multiple organizations.
  • Apply communication, data modeling, database engineering skills and analytical expertise by simplifying technical requirements and trends, based on audience.
  • Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your knowledge of databases, scripting languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, , , and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes.
  • Apply data visualization through different formats such as tables and graphs (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Grow your communication and technical skills by merging consulting and a very complex data environments to create data-centric solutions across the Air Force Maintenance and Overhaul depot

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with Oracle DBMS, including PostgreSQL or SQL Server
  • Experience with Computer Science or Air Force Logistics
  • Experience with a data modeler
  • Knowledge of Data Modeling,. 3-NF normalization, Data Loading and Transformation
  • Knowledge of the relational database model, DDL and DML
  • Ability to model data in third normal form (3-NF) and its limitations
  • Ability to write and test database procedures with PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL or Transact SQL
  • Ability to document test in objective reports
  • Secret Clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with Air Force logistics data at the depot or base levels
  • Experience with Aircraft maintenance and overhaul
  • Experience with logistics for DoD
  • Experience with the Air Force or prior IT contracting experience
  • Experiences authoring short technical reports
  • Experience with large complex organizations
