Key Role:
Serves as the primary subject matter expert on sealift operations in the largest combatant command area of responsibility. Monitors critical movements in support of military exercises and emerging operations including humanitarian assistance and disaster response. Advises leadership on availability of strategic sealift, including military charters and liner service, Army watercraft, and Navy Expeditionary Fast Transport vessels. Monitors the status of regional seaports. Collaborates with staff engineers on port damage repair and recovery. Works closely with U.S. Transportation Command, Military Sealift Command (MSC), and the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC).
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in military sealift and sustainment operations
3+ years of experience with port operations and sealift planning
2+ years of experience supporting operations or planning in the INDOPACOM AOR
Experience in the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), Military Sealift Command (MSC), or Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC)
Knowledge of the U.S. Maritime Administration’s Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement (VISA), Merchant Marine Act or Jones Act
Ability to work non-standard hours as needed
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with Lines of Effort that support the Joint Concept for Contested Logistics
Knowledge of the Military Sealift Command and U.S. Pacific Fleet processes for requesting military sealift support
Knowledge of Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) and U.S. Army Pacific processes for requesting military sealift support
Knowledge of Joint Campaign, Contingency, and Crisis Action Planning procedures, Joint Doctrine, and Joint Publications (JP) 4-0, JP 4-01, JP 4-01.2, and JP 4-01.7
