Air Ground Task Force Current Operations Planner, Senior

Key Role:

Provide operational planning support within the current operations planning horizon. Analyze, track and draft the current operations related official correspondence that includes operation orders, deployment information messages, pre-event planning products, conference or working group reports, plans of action and milestones, exercise related support briefs and products, information and point papers, and other routine staff products. Assist with the design, planning, and coordination of the Marine Corps client’s programs, events, and exercises. Provide recommendations and analysis regarding Personnel Recovery Plan compliance with pertinent orders and directives. Assist with incorporating Operations Plan requirements and theater specific priorities into exercises. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate current operations related conferences, working groups, and meetings. Provide subject matter expert guidance to the management of the monthly Defense Readiness Reporting System Evaluations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in working with continuity of operations programs and exercises, Crisis Action Programs and maintaining and Personnel Recovery requirements
  • Experience with the Marine Corps Planning Process or Military Decision-Making Process
  • Experience in working with the Defense Readiness Reporting System
  • Ability to develop products, briefs, orders, and policy at the three-star staff level
  • Secret clearance
  • BA or BS degree or AA or AS degree and 10+ years of experience in the Marine Corps serving at the Marine Expeditionary Force Marine Air Ground Task Force, or major subordinate command level

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with current operations
  • Experience in working with current watch floor requirements
  • Experience in writing Operation and Fragmentary Orders
  • Experience in planning and coordinating exercises and drills
  • Knowledge of Rapid Force Deployment Program Requirements
