As a database administrator specializing in cloud-based Oracle systems, you know how to manage and secure database technology. At Booz Allen, you can use those skills to improve the database technology supporting our nation's veterans.
On our team, you’ll analyze the design, development, and delivery or implementation of data solutions, including architecture design, prototyping of concepts to proof of concept, analysis of the development of standards, design, and test plans, and code, module design development and testing, data solution debugging, design and implementation of a solution that follows efficient design techniques, and development that meets and exceeds the intent of the design of the data solution. You’ll assist with the planning and engineering of the organization's databases. You will monitor performance, scalability, and security and evaluate existing database design to determine the necessary updates and integration requirements of a new design and to ensure final solutions meet organizational needs. You’ll provide your client with peace of mind as you analyze policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database. You’ll use technology and tools like OEM, CloudWatch, and Dynatrace to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical database.

You Have:
- Experience with the installation, maintenance, and administration of Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or RDBMS variants
- Experience supporting Linux systems engineering efforts in system design and evaluation, solution engineering, software development, or system administration
- Experience configuring, integrating, and securing AWS cloud-native database offerings such as RDS
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies or the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Ability to design and develop complex SQL/PL SQL queries and reports to retrieve required data
- Ability to analyze and tune queries to improve performance
- Public Trust
- HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with Database Schema as Code tools
- Experience with database partitioning and microservices
- Knowledge of Liquibase source control tools
- Knowledge of security scanning tools, configuring their use, and working with teams to fix vulnerabilities
- Ability to perform code reviews on SQL change sets and work with developers to create and enforce best practices

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
