Network Engineer, Junior

Key Role:

Update the Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) crew binder and crew material repository, including systems configurations updates, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Incident Response Plans, best practices, and training documentation, as required. Provide support for the analysis of COTS and GOTS tools and Cyber support services. Provide analysis and support for engineering and architecture considerations affecting DoD IT assets used to enable AF missions. Recommend generational improvements to IT systems used to support assigned Government IT systems and provide technical support to implement, configure, and tune Cyber capabilities not sustained by a Systems Program Office (SPO). Work with the local SPOs to integrate and optimize technical solutions the government decides to use. Establish and improve a process continuously to analyze events systematically, notify critical personnel, conduct mission impact assessments, report incidents, track progression, recommend countermeasures, and monitor their effectiveness. Provide engineering support to facilitate centralized monitoring and active defense at the client site, in collaboration and alignment with the government Cyber defense strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

-3 years of experience with SIEM, IDS, and IPS maintenance or implementation

-1 year of experience with reviewing, planning, and evaluating network systems under direct supervision

-Experience with providing documentation and project tracking and reporting to management levels

-Experience with a variety of technical concepts, practices, and procedures

-Ability to troubleshoot network systems and recommend improvements to the network.

-Ability to provide tactical and strategic input on overall network planning and related projects

-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

-DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III Certification
