Systems Engineer, Senior

Key Role:
Identify information to be monitored, systems and software to provide monitoring capabilities, recommended event triggering thresholds, incident response measures, Cybersecurity reporting processes and procedures, and recommended actions to implement similar capabilities across the Air Force client's portfolio. Support the government to develop requirements with supported System Program Offices (SPOs) to present an optimized, data-centric, and layered Cyber defense approach. Work with senior leaders to perform architectural analysis and modeling that provides input for architectural artifacts. Work with site leadership to analyze and continuously improve a process to systematically analyze events, notify critical personnel, conduct mission impact assessments, report incidents and track progression, recommend countermeasures, and monitor their effectiveness. Provide Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) SME support. Review lessons learned, root-cause analysis, and issues with countermeasures and provide process improvement recommendations for policies or procedures and infrastructure defense. Work with senior leadership to define and track the status of Cyber defense and Cybersecurity maturity level in regards to operations on the assigned government IT systems being defended in addition to the status of projects and activities to implement or improve Cyber defenses.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with performing high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of very complex applications that require expertise in administrative and technical work under general direction

-3 years of experience with SIEM/IDS/IPS maintenance or implementation

-Experience with serving as a task leader

-Experience with supporting the design and preparation of technical reports and documentation and the generation of charts and graphs to record results

-Ability to support all phase of system development with an emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance phases, including Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) and Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E)

-Ability to apply higher-level business or technical principals and methods to very difficult technical problems, arriving at an automated engineering solution

-Ability to support the preparation and delivery of presentations and briefings, as required

-TS/SCI clearance

-MA or MS degree

-DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III Certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Completion of Systems Engineering Training or Specifications Requirements Writing Training or CSEP Certification
