As a safety engineer on our team, you’ll work with Booz Allen colleagues and the U.S. Space Force to develop and rapidly deploy the next generation of resilient missile warning (MW), tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (TISR), and environmental monitoring (EM) capabilities to deter attacks and provide critical information to our warfighters to defeat our enemies in battle. Your customer will trust you to develop and help implement safety strategies, system safety management plans (SSMP), Programmatic Environmental Safety and Health Evaluations (PESHEs), and environmental hazard analyses. You Have:
10+ years of experience conducting system engineering analysis, system safety analysis, risk management or hazard analysis, and implementing DoD system safety programs
10+ years of experience on space-related Major Defense Acquisition Programs, including space, ground, software, or hardware system
Experience defining and organizing program strategies and implementation plans for all phases of the acquisition life cycle that meet statutory, regulatory, federal, state, and local policies
Knowledge of MIL-STD-882 safety analyses and safety program implementation
Ability to develop, manage, and execute government and program system safety management plans, processes and products, including the SSMP, PESHE, Environmental Safety and Health Evaluation Plan, safety release memo, and the environmental hazard analysis
Ability to identify potential risks, hazards, and deficiencies in operating procedures, system design, and training documentation
Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDC), and associate contractor teammates to achieve program goals
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Science field
Nice If You Have:
Experience performing systems engineering, integration, and test on space-based remote sensing systems
Experience with planning and executing program reviews throughout the lifecycle of the system
Experience with Environment, Safety and Occupational Health (ESOH) risk management and NEPA compliance
Experience creating or reviewing hazard tracking systems, risk acceptance letters, and safety releases
Knowledge of Agile methodologies
Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02
TS/SCI clearance
Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science
INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification, including ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
