The Opportunity:
As a fire protection engineer, you understand that relationship-building and keen attention to detail are crucial when overseeing the life cycle of a project. As an experienced professional at Booz Allen, you can use your client engagement skills to impact projects that will ensure our military’s testing facilities are prepared to support innovative technology. We need someone like you who is eager to work on complex projects that will transform DoD testing capabilities.
On our team, you’ll manage challenging projects for sensitive missions from beginning to end while collaborating with senior leadership. Using computer-related facilities management software and your problem-solving skills, you’ll work with a team to develop creative solutions on mission-critical projects in the next-generation weapons testing arena. In this role, you’ll closely impact our military’s testing facilities by ensuring new or renovated test facilities are in compliance with local, state, and federal codes regarding fire protection standards and regulations. With mentoring, exposure to challenging projects, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers.

What You’ll Work On:
Analyze, formulate, and recommend facility fire protection requirements, design, space criteria, and usage through space utilization studies and forecasts
Lead analyses and solution development for facility planning and management for sensitive testing facilities
Lead complex activities related to the control and management of cost, schedule, risk, and resource optimization
Prepare or review facilities estimates and site proposals for client review as to cost and feasibility
Advise clients in developing plans and programs responsive to present and anticipated portfolio, facility, or individual fire protection requirements
Recommend planning, design, and construction standards or milestones

You Have:
7+ years of experience working in design, in a professional environment
Knowledge of risks and safeguards that prevent, control, and mitigate the effects of fires
Knowledge of design engineering of specialized systems, including wet systems, dry systems, pre‐action systems, open and closed deluge systems, high-speed deluge systems, ultra‐high speed deluge systems, mass notification, heat detection, smoke detection, beam detection, and fire alarms
Knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC), Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), NFPA, ANSI, ASCE, and industry standards related to fire protection
Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes and standards
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field
Nice If You Have:
Experience with MEP construction drawing sets
Knowledge of life safety compliance within an energetic manufacturing environment
Ability to support facility design services for repair projects or facility operations support
Master’s degree in Engineering
NICET Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
