Test Engineer

The Opportunity: 

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development – and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible. 


As a test engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with engineers and PMs to evaluate hardware and software systems developed for the US Navy. You’ll build a test plan and strategy with test cases based on system parameters and use cases. You’ll generate data and execute the test cases to see how the system performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the system. You’ll be familiar with the operation of each system under test to accurately measure and record critical data for analysis. You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with of diagnostic equipment, including D-dot probes, oscilloscopes, function generators, vector network analyzers, various power supplies, and data acquisition software

  • 5+ years of experience with designing, executing, and documenting test cases

  • 5+ years of experience with developing test strategies, including Developmental Test (DT) or Operational Tests (OT) in laboratory and field environments

  • Experience with the development of evaluation requirements and data collection requirements

  • Experience with developing, documenting, and executing test plans, test cases, observations, analysis, incident reporting, and test reports

  • Knowledge of Test and Evaluation (T&E) strategies

  • Ability to analyze, process, and format test data

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with facilitating and documenting test coordination, readiness review, incident adjudication, and after-action reviews

  • Experience with Test and Evaluation (T&E) methods

  • Experience with SOP development

  • Experience with RF and signal analysis

  • Experience with High Power Microwave (HPM) systems

  • Knowledge of development of Test and Evaluation Strategy (TES) and Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP)

  • Ability to work in a lab and field environment

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
