Accounting Policy Analyst, Senior

Key Role:

Ensure the proper application of U.S. GAAP and provide transaction-oriented accounting and reporting assistance, including the development of research and preparing technical accounting memoranda. Participate in the implementation of company-wide accounting policies, new accounting standards, and other applicable financial reporting guidance. Support accurate and timely accounting recognition and related periodic close and reporting procedures associated with revenue, purchase accounting, share-based payment compensation, derivatives, and non–routine transactions. Support due diligence and integration of accounting functions associated with acquisitions. Interact with investor relations, treasury, legal, financial planning, and Booz Allen’s external auditors on highly technical and complex accounting areas. Contribute to Booz Allen’s overall system of internal controls and Sarbanes–Oxley compliance, including updating and documenting revenue recognition process flows and controls. Monitor existing and emerging financial accounting and reporting requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

-6+ years of experience with U.S. GAAP or SEC reporting in a public company or public accounting firm

-Ability to show highly adept time management expertise and manage competing priorities and tasks effectively

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-Bachelor’s degree

-Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with revenue recognition, accounting, and reporting practices of a publicly held IT government services contractor preferred

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

-Ability to demonstrate and make well-reasoned decisions

-Ability to communicate with all levels of staff

-Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

-Master’s degree
