Cloud Engineer, Mid

Key Role:

Develop innovative solutions to enable firm consumption of cloud resources. Develop custom solutions and integrate COTS tools to help firm staff and clients securely deliver cloud solutions. Recommend tools and capabilities based on your research and knowledge of various on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid architectures. Work with our engineering and architecture teams to inform cloud strategy and design. Lead complex design engineering assignments reflecting a foundation in industry standard best practices. Conduct technical reviews of software and systems design and provide system and security recommendations. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Experience using cloud services, including AWS, Azure, or GCP, to design and deploy architectures and applications 

  • Experience developing with Python  

  • Experience implementing enterprise-wide scalable and high-availability operations on AWS or other cloud platforms  

  • Experience using CLI interfaces to manage and configure cloud platforms at scale 

  • Experience with Advanced Operating System, including Linux or Unix

  • Knowledge of cloud security, auditing, and network boundary controls 

  • Knowledge of Implementing and following Agile methodology 

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Associate-level Cloud Platform Certification or above, including Solution Architect

Additional Qualifications: 

  • Experience deploying serverless solutions using AWS Lambda or similar tools 

  • Experience orchestrating and vending multiple cloud accounts at enterprise scale  

  • Experience using Configuration Management and Configuration Orchestration tools, including Ansible, Terraform, or Chef  

  • Experience working within customer requirements and advising customers on best practices while upholding customer service standards

  • Experience with containerization using Docker or Kubernetes, preferably on AWS 

  • Knowledge of DevOps Concepts, including IaC, CI/CD, or blue-green deployments 

  • Ability to build infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation and develop scripts for future reuse and environment automation efforts  

  • Ability to address areas for cost savings through Auto Scaling, right-sizing, and elimination of waste 

  • Bachelor’s degree

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 80,000 to 95,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
