Cloud Operations Engineer

The Opportunity:

Manages, administers, supports and enhances cloud environments, ensuring continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution. Applies specific functional knowledge, working or general industry knowledge. Develops or contributes to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with some guidance, may review or guide activities of more junior employees.

You Have:

• 2+ years of experience building and operating client-facing cloud environments in either an architect, administrator, or engineer role

• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting advanced cloud configurations, security, access control, and services within a cloud catalog

• 2+ years of experience with containerized architecture and orchestration services provided by cloud providers

• Experience providing patch or vulnerability management

• Knowledge of the AWS service catalog, costs, and configuration models

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

• Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) systems and processes and National Airspace System (NAS) operations

• Experience troubleshooting complex distributed environments and taking corrective actions to ensure availability

• Experience automating DevOps across the application build lifecycle to streamline processes

• Experience with Cloud orchestration tools, including Chef, Puppet, and Ansible

• Experience managing applications in commercial Cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure

• Foundational or Associate level Cloud Service Provider certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
