Data Integration Developer, Senior

The Challenge:

Our data engineers design, build and optimize the data architectures that drive critical mission operations and address some of the most complex problems facing our country and the world today. As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you will develop scalable, event-driven, and distributed data architectures to enable process automation, analytics, machine learning, IoT, and beyond. Our data engineers orchestrate ETL pipelines, deep dive on coding and scripting languages, and deploy Big data, Pub/Sub, and streaming platforms to the cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructures. As a member of our data engineering team, you will grow your ability to analyze and specify data models, manipulate all manner of data feeds and formats, and operate secure, reliable, and performant data pipelines. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience with building or maintaining software systems, including data engineering, software engineering, API development, data pipeline development, database development, or data infrastructure management
  • Experience in working with standard data formats, including JSON, XML, Avro, Parquet, or CSV
  • Experience with ETL tools and methods
  • Experience with coding in general scripting languages, including Python, Java, or C#
  • Experience in performing data integration, building data pipelines, or working with data manipulation tools
  • Experience with building and working in a Linux environment
  • Experience with version control tools, including Git or Subversion
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in developing Splunk queries and working with data models and the KV Store
  • Experience with shell scripting
  • Experience with using Web APIs, including REST or SOAP
  • Experience with SQL databases
  • Experience in working with distributed system architectures 
  • Experience with any or all of the following tools: network sensor tools, including BigFix, Tanium, ForeScout, and Tenable
  • Experience with any or all of the following tools: build automation and deployment tools, including Gradle, Maven, or Jenkins, configuration management, including Ansible or Vagrant, or virtualization tools, including VirtualBox, VMware Player, Vagrant, or Docker

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is $120,000 to $160,00. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
