Executive Communications Professional Speechwriter, Senior

Key Role:

Serve as the principal strategist, planner, and writer for all internal and external communications by the Chief Executive Officer, including speeches, presentations, panel discussions, interviews, op-eds, talking points, correspondence, written internal communications, and videos. Anticipate the CEO’s communications needs and recommend strategies proactively in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Vet and recommend engagement opportunities in collaboration with business partners. Develop objectives and key messages and prepare the CEO for internal and external meetings and events with various audiences, including the media, public, investors, clients, government officials, and internal groups. Align messaging to strategic priorities and corporate marketing and communications priorities. Use a range of media and communication platforms creatively, including digital, to enhance employee engagement, public relations, and brand awareness. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

-15+ years of experience in a professional work environment with at least 8 years of those years of experience with executive communications and a track record in public relations, corporate communications, government public affairs, or journalism

-Experience with capturing voice and speech writing

-Experience in supporting a senior executive or government official and engaging with executives across large organizations

-Experience with project management, prioritization, and multitasking

-Ability to gather information and synthesize it into deliverables

-Ability to write in a clear, non-technical, accessible, compelling, authentic, and accurate way about a broad range of issues

-Ability to display comfort and proficiency in communicating both government policy issues and corporate business issues

-Ability to perform independent research, verify facts rapidly, and produce on tight deadlines

-Ability to travel required

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with executing multimedia and video presentations

-Experience with design expertise

-Possession of excellent listening skills

-Ability to obtain a security clearance or Secret clearance

-MA or MS degree in Public Affairs, Communications, Marketing, or Journalism
