Job Description
The Opportunity:
A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable INDOPACOM to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, an experienced network engineer who knows how to evolve the network the Joint Force needs.
As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in DoD network design and architecture, DoD systems interoperability, OSI model, DoD network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, virtual routing and forwarding, and satellite communications (SATCOM) to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll upgrade or develop enterprise-wide infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze working infrastructures, navigate DoD processes for requesting network changes, and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems. You’ll apply your expertise in routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, virtual routing, and forwarding as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies.
Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize DoD client operations and modernization. Using your experience in Communications Security (COMSEC), cryptographic equipment, cryptography, key management, software and hardware firewalls, Cisco software, Juniper solutions, Palo Alto firewalls, cloud networking, optical infrastructure networking, virtual routing and forwarding, SolarWinds, and creating custom scripts to automate network rules, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions.
How You’ll Contribute:
- Maintain responsibility for completing site surveys and creating structured designs for the customer’s network in support of voice, data, security, and audio and visual systems.
- Design engineered drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documents.
- Work closely with other IT and facilities team members, project teams, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, material suppliers, and other technical resources to analyze business and technical requirements to develop system designs, estimates, implementation plans, and management and customer reports, and coordinate the structured cabling design with other design disciplines.
- Implement final network solutions to support on-prem and cloud environments.
- Manage the production of network devices and network architecture design, and develop all supporting documentation required for implementation in a global network.
Further your career with us as we help INDOPACOM overcome colorless network congestion of traditional Army systems with cutting edge technologies.
Join us. The world can’t wait.
