The Opportunity:
As an Observability Application Performance Monitoring (APM) Technician, you will play a critical role in implementing and managing advanced APM solutions and Predictive AIOps technologies. You will be responsible for configuring and maintaining APM tools, overseeing system integrations, and onboarding new services into the monitoring framework. Your role will involve collaborating with service owners to ensure their performance requirements are met and using AIOps to automate issue resolution and improve system performance.
We focus on growing as a team, so you’ll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the team work through challenges and develop new methodologies. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:
5+ years of experience in application performance monitoring (APM), observability, and system integration
Experience with configuring and managing APM tools, such as New Relic, Dynatrace or Datadog to monitor and optimize application performance
Experience in implementing Predictive AIOps solutions to enhance operational performance and automation
Experience with integrating new services into monitoring frameworks and managing performance metrics
Experience with gathering and incorporating requirements from service owners to ensure performance goals are achieved
Experience in using monitoring tools, such as Dynatrace, New Relic, Datadog, or ServiceNow Operation Platform for comprehensive application and system oversight
Experience in scripting languages, such as Python or Bash for performance tuning and automation
Experienced in ITIL and ITSM best practices for performance and service management
Knowledge of application performance metrics, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
Bachelor’s degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience with Cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes
Experience managing APM-related projects or onboarding new services
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
Ability to lead discussions and reach consensus among various stakeholders to conduct planning
Ability to be self-driven, work independently, and handle multiple tasks concurrently
Possession of excellent interpersonal and client service skills
APM Certifications, such as Dynatrace or ITIL

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
