As a Senior Observability Cloud Engineer on our team, you’ll work with the US government and its affiliates on the development of more robust systems by building a resilient infrastructure. You’ll build in redundancy, implement monitoring tools, and automate wherever possible. You’ll reduce toil by scripting routine tasks and automating self-repair. This is your chance to leverage your expertise in monitoring and observability while assisting junior engineers and broadening your knowledge base. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:
- 4+ years of experience working in the field of information technology
- 2+ years of experience deploying and managing infrastructure in AWS environments, including EC2, EKS, ECS, or Lambda
- 2+ years of experience administering a logging solution, such as OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, and Logstash
- 2+ years of experience monitoring and alerting for Applications and Infrastructure with Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, OpenSearch, CloudWatch, Dynatrace, or Datadog
- Experience with applying core SRE practices and principles, including observability, defining SLOs and Error Budget, evaluating production readiness, post-mortems, and reducing toil
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and automation tools, including Terraform or CloudFormation
- Experience with Git repositories, CI/CD concepts, and leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to configure AWS Cloud environments
- Experience with a programming or scripting language, such as Bash, Python or JavaScript for automation purposes
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
- Experience implementing and operating a secure, multi-tenant, centralized log ingestion pattern and Elastic or OpenSearch clusters in AWS, including ETL and distributed data pipeline management
- Experience with Kubernetes and helm charts
- Experience applying advanced SRE practices and principles, such as capacity planning, cost optimization, chaos engineering, self-healing architecture, or advanced alerting techniques
- Experience making systems fully observable, manipulating and transforming telemetry, and monitoring distributed complex architected systems across separate regions
- Experience with knowledge management systems such as Confluence
- Experience with Agile methodologies, SDLC, and working in an Agile development environment
- Experience Integrating monitoring to ITSM tooling such as Service Now, Jira Service Desk, Pager Duty, or equivalent
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and AWS services
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Possession of excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
