Job Description
Key Role:
Implement data engineering activities on business-critical complex projects, including helping to shape the architecture, security strategies, and engineering practices as part of a larger team. Support the development and deployment of data pipelines, APIs, and integrations. Work with a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, and data consumers in an agile environment. Handle complex challenges while sharpening skills in data engineering practices and data examination and supporting the assessment, design, development, and maintenance of scalable platforms and tools. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience with a coding language, such as Python or Scala
- 4+ years of experience with the entire ETL pipeline, including data acquisition, data prep, and database architecture
- 2+ years of experience in a client-facing or business partner role, including engagement with senior leaders
- Experience with agile project management, including managing and executing sprints, evaluating real-time progress and lessons learned, and re-assessing priorities
- Experience with data engineering projects supporting data science and AI/ML implementations
- Ability to develop scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats and support project team to scale, monitor, and operate data platforms
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with development within a public cloud, including Microsoft Azure, or AWS
- Experience with analytics notebooks such as Jupyter and Databricks
- Experience with distributed data or computing tools such as Spark and Databricks
- Experience working with large data volumes and processing
- Ability to display initiative and solve problems with little guidance
- Ability to build trust and develop relationships with a diverse group of leaders
- Ability to be collaborative, resourceful, and achieve results in a matrixed environment
- Possession of excellent analytical and quantitative skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
