Configuration Management Specialist

Key Role:

Protect the integrity of a project’s delivered products, from code to technical documentation. Leverage modern configuration-, application-, and life cycle management tools and processes to maintain version control for software code, packages, libraries, containers, virtual machines, releases, and documents. Maintain ownership of the project’s Configuration Management Plan, facilitate Configuration Control Boards, and support the establishment of the Configuration Management Library. Provide support for planning and producing a configuration control and management process that will assist with implementing and sustaining procedures for controlling modifications to baseline hardware, firmware, software, and documentation to ensure the protection of the Network infrastructure against improper modifications before, during, and after implementation. Provide support for planning and producing a process for reporting and recording changes to installed baseline equipment, equipment configuration specifications, and site locations. Coordinate the interaction between engineering, integration team, logistics and program management to ensure appropriate changes are documented required. Perform software maintenance and understand software configuration management with version control.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in configuration management or logistics

  • Experience performing functions, including life cycle management and planning, Configuration Identification, Configuration Control, Configuration Verification and Audit, or Data Management

  • Knowledge of the software release process

  • Knowledge of CM technology operating systems, including Windows, Sybase, or Oracle based products

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a configuration manager supporting IT programs

  • Ability to demonstrate a strong sense of urgency

  • Ability to demonstrate self-governance on task priority

  • Bachelor’s degree

Clearance:
