The Opportunity:

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable organizations to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need an experienced network engineer like you who knows how to develop the exact network the Marine Corps needs. 

As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in Marine Corps Intelligence network employment and capabilities to integrate the technical support of intelligence network performance into exercise and experiment planning activities. You’ll apply your expertise in routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, virtual routing, and forwarding as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the Marine Corps evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies. Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have: 

  • 10+ years of experience with information technology

  • Experience with set-up, configuration, or support for communications networks

  • Knowledge of network standards, protocols, security, and applications, capabilities and applications of network equipment, including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, firewalls, servers, transmission media, and hardware, network architecture and infrastructure, and local area and wide area networking

  • Ability to identify and analyze systems requirements, develop and maintain system applications and security, develop and maintain network configurations, and troubleshoot network performance issues

  • Ability to provide user support and guidance, recommend and implement both upgrades and patches in accordance with DoD Directives and orders, work on unusually complex problems, and provide highly innovative solutions

  • Ability to perform end-to-end lifecycle planning, design, installation, maintenance, and support for rapidly assembled and disassembled wargame networks, including standalone, NIPRnet, SIPRnet, and JWICS networked systems

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • IAT Level II Certification

  • CompTIA Network+ Certification

  • GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF) Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
