Nuclear Engineer

The Opportunity: 

As a Nuclear Engineer, you will support defense analytic requirements. You will conduct facility and vulnerability assessments on nuclear capabilities, drawing on your enhanced scientific and engineering research using techniques such as reverse engineering analysis. You will be part of a unique, multi-discipline team assisting partners to fuse operations and intelligence information to enhance government efforts against current and emerging threats, and counterproliferation efforts. Join us as we provide the right information at the right time to support the critical needs of our nation’s leaders.

You Have

  • 3+ years of experience supporting defense analytic requirements with nuclear engineering research

  • Experience reviewing analytical products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support

  • Ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal oversight

  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have

  • Experience working with all-source analysts and the Intelligence Community

  • Experience with producing all-source intelligence or finished intelligence production for a national level agency

  • Knowledge of nuclear sub-disciplines like thermos-hydraulics, seismic events, physics, computational science, or fission reactor engineering

  • Knowledge of ICD 203 and tradecraft standards

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, Engineering Technologies, or a Physical Science field

Clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
