Network Engineer, Junior

Key Role:

Analyze the planning, design, development, and implementation of network engineering plans and wide-scale networks for customers. Monitor all activities of network facilities and ensure high quality data transmission. Provide technical support in all customer interaction situations, including receipt of specifications, design, test, and response to service requests. Debug and test networks, plan projects, and perform needs assessments. Prepare and oversee cost and benefit estimates, presentations, negotiations, installation, problem resolution, and multi-vendor product integration. Provide project management documentation, as required. Provide initial implementation support of networks to assure proper execution and resolution for system failures or degradations, as needed. This position requires the ability to travel.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with Cisco network administration, operation, and troubleshooting Quality of Service (QoS)

-Experience with wireless networks and 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) technologies

-Experience with performing systems engineering, integration, and test and evaluation in a laboratory setting

-Experience with Microsoft Office and basic test and evaluation hardware or software tools, including MATLAB or LabView

-Ability to travel up to 25% with some foreign travel possibility

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with unmanned systems a plus

-Experience with prior DoD, government, or military work in a laboratory or Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) environment preferred

-Experience in programming with C++, Java, Lynx, or Python a plus

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Secret clearance

-Network or Information Assurance (IA) Certifications, including a CompTIA Network+ or Security+ or advanced certifications, including MCSA or MCSE or CCNA or CCNP a plus
