The Opportunity:

With all the information available today, it takes a skilled intelligence analyst to know how to find and interpret the best data to give their clients the right answers. With the critical decisions made in our government every day, we need an intel analyst like you to do just that. As an Open-Source Analyst, you’ll use your specialized experience and attention to detail to develop intelligence products to give your client the actionable intelligence and context they need. If you have strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset, we have an opportunity to use those skills. 

As an intelligence analyst on our team, you’ll help your client understand their mission set. Using your understanding of various collection platforms, you’ll explore new data sources focusing on open-source. You’ll validate information and apply client tradecraft as you build assessments for U.S. IC-wide products. As the authority on open-source, your client will look to you for time-critical recommendations, often under pressure.

You’ll conduct all-source analytic production on sources and products of information available from public, private, and U.S. and foreign Government open-source materials within established security protocols. You’ll analyze foreign and domestic-based publicly available information to identify trends, patterns, and relationships that provide unique insights to address defense intelligence requirements, serve as an intelligence analyst responsible for open-source intelligence analysis, and aid with intelligence support for contingency operations, operational and strategic-level planning, Joint and multi-lateral training exercises, and strategic engagement policy in various regions. You’ll generate written intelligence products in accordance with IC Tradecraft Standards, using a wide range of open-source resources and tools and briefing analysis to senior DoD leaders to support Priority Intelligence and Operational Requirements and timelines.

You Have: 

  • 8+ years of experience conducting open-source intelligence analysis and working with intelligence systems and tools 
  • Experience identifying, planning, developing, and executing analytic production methodologies, tradecraft, and techniques
  • Experience with threat network analysis
  • Knowledge of threat groups, including either state or non-state actors
  • Knowledge of intelligence support to military plans and exercises
  • Ability to define problems, supervise studies, and lead surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions to customers’ requests for information
  • Ability to provide strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to Defense planners and policymakers  
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • Bachelor’s degree

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
