Maritime Campaign Planner

Key Role:

Support planning at the operational level with a focus on maritime support to Combatant Command campaign, contingency, and operational plans. Develop schedules, plans of action, milestones, and products for planning, coordination, collaboration, and presentation. Provide analysis for Marine Corps contributions to support plans in USAFRICOM and USEUCOM areas of responsibility. Analyze personnel and command and control (C2) requirements and capabilities to enable Marine Corps contributions to naval operations across the spectrum of conflict. Perform cross-echelon analysis of C2 and organizational constructs for Allied and Joint Force Commands, with a focus on the Naval Component Command and Joint Force Maritime Component Command. Organize, schedule, collaborate, task, and monitor key actions and milestones in support of operational planning teams and cross-functional teams with a focus on the Maritime Operations Center process. Participate in exercises, experiments, and working groups to ensure the exploration, testing, revision, or iteration of naval integration and other functional component integration actions. Recommend courses of action, command and support relationships with a focus on the operational level. Provide expertise and support on doctrine, concepts of operation, concepts of employment, and after-action reports. Describe capability requirements through an operational lens to assist decision-makers with resourcing and allocation decisions. Identify and document relevant doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, facilities, and policy issues, and make recommendations for improvements.


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Experience with supporting military planning at theater, operational, or tactical levels

  • Experience with leading joint planning teams, operational planning teams, and battle rhythm events

  • Experience in planning large-scale events with military headquarters staff elements

  • Experience with the Joint Planning Process, Navy Planning Process, Marine Corps Planning Process, or Military Decision-Making Process, including Adaptive Planning and Execution

  • Knowledge of the U.S. Marine Corps organization and structure, including Force Design and emerging concepts

  • Knowledge of naval and joint doctrine, including Maritime Operations Center processes

  • Ability to coordinate across staff functions and command echelons

  • Ability to brief senior-level customers, including general and flag officers

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications: 

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Master's degree

  • Completion of the Maritime Operational Planners Course

  • Completion of Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1 and 2, Joint Advanced Warfighting School, Maritime Advanced Warfighting School, School of Advanced Warfighting, School of Advanced Military Studies, or a similar Course

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
