IT Infrastructure Administrator

Key Role:

Have a broad range of information technology skills and specialization in at least two of the following technical areas: network administration, server administration, virtualization, cloud management, storage, security, data center implementation, and multi-tier enterprise application architecture and management. Maintain the functionality and efficiency of the networking environment and data center infrastructure running on one or more operating systems. Perform advanced troubleshooting of complex system issues Design and deploy virtual environments using modeling and simulation tools. Resolve network issues to ensure uninterrupted operations. Apply technical expertise and industry knowledge to develop innovative solutions for the computing environment. Serve as a frontline interface to users with technical issues. Implement and coordinate cross-functional communication. Assess and recommend emergent hardware and software technologies for purchase and in the environment, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with network configuration, including switch configuration, VLANs, and subnetting
  • 3+ years of experience with virtualization, including VMware VSphere and VMWare NSX Enterprise
  • 3+ years of experience with administering operating systems, including Windows or Linux
  • Knowledge of implementation and administration of complex, multi-OS, or multi-vendor networks
  • Ability to install, manage, and configure Cisco and brand switches and routers in a data center using VLANs and virtual routing
  • Ability to install, manage, and configure systems in a multi-OS environment
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • DoD 8140 or 8570 Level II Certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with researching the unconventional application of software and operating systems when designing and developing new methodologies, significant modifications, or adaptations of standardized techniques
  • Experience with top-level technical work, including performing in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools used for wargaming exercises and training events
  • Experience with technical system security reviews using system scan tools, including ACAS and SCAP
  • Experience with implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Ability to create detailed design specifications for use by software development staff members
  • Ability to be a self-starter, work without considerable direction, and work with a team
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including coordinating efforts and establishing customer relations

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
