The Challenge:
Are you excited at the prospect of unlocking the secrets held by a data set? Are you fascinated by the possibilities presented by the IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence advances? In an increasingly connected world, massive amounts of structured and unstructured data open up new opportunities. As a data scientist, you can turn these complex data sets into useful information to solve global challenges. Across private and public sectors — from fraud detection, to cancer research, to national intelligence — you know the answers are in the data.
As a data scientist, you will provide data management functions in the form of data governance, data architecture, data warehousing, data quality management, metadata management, data security management, data development management, data operations management, data refinement, integrated data services, data transformation services, data discovery services, data tradecraft services, advanced data analytics, training, and technology pursuit. You will provide both on-site and alternate site data operations support in support of global operations utilizing intelligence data. You will gain access to and maintain an accredited virtual data science environment leveraging cloud-based storage, processing, and approve software. You will identify and acquire the requisite data through sharing agreements, licensing, or purchasing. You will conduct quantitative analysis of the data to fulfill an intelligence requirement and establish the business model for how to integrate the data science output into the intelligence cycle.

You Have:
-5+ years of experience with Python, R, or Java as applied to programming access and manipulation of data
-Experience working with a database structure, including relational, NoSQL, and graph
-Experience working with data storage and access options
-Experience with enabling access to data by way of databases or dashboards
-Experience with cleaning, filtering, transforming, and enriching data, including by way of database joins or table lookups
-TS/SCI clearance
-Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of experience with IT or Master's degree and 7+ years of experience with IT
Nice If You Have:
-Experience with cloud services as applied in the DoD and IC
-Experience with IT related disciplines, including Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
-Experience with simplification and optimization of data automation workflows and streamlining of extract- transform-load (ETL) operations
-Knowledge of various SDLC methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, and their appropriate usage
-Knowledge of DoD and IC activities, functions, and organizational structures
-Knowledge of DoD or IC operations, data infrastructure, and architecture
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
