Electrical Engineering Specialist, Senior

Key Role: 

Provide engineering review, coordination, and oversight for operations, maintenance, repair, and construction work and oversee and coordinate activities with trade shops, including prioritizing work, reviewing ongoing projects, inspecting installed equipment, and overseeing and coordinating work orders, service orders, and projects. Plan, conduct, and direct projects or major phases of significant projects and coordinate the efforts of engineers and technical support staff. Manage project design or construction efforts, including scheduling, funding, and day-to-day project oversight, manage and evaluate construction contractor performance, integrate, and coordinate projects with field personnel, evaluate, validate, and manage project change requests, and provide official weekly project status reports. Assist the client's contracting officer (CO) and contracting officer's technical representative (COTR) with acquisition planning, execution, and administration, assist the CO and COTR with conducting pre-bid and pre-construction site visits with the COTR, provide invoice supporting information to the COTR for payment, and prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets, provide technical guidance and assistance on contracting and construction issues, direct design efforts, recommend construction documents for approval, and oversee any follow-on maintenance programs. Optimize performance, cost, and schedule by ensuring project objectives are achieved on schedule and at the lowest cost compatible with user requirements. Ensure timely input of all data, comments, and documentation into MAXIMO software project management tool. Ensure the integration of all systems, including information technology, telephone, security, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.

Basic Qualifications:   

  • 10+ years of experience working in a professional environment

  • 5+ years of experience specialized in a high assigned field including high voltage power, mechanical systems, fire protection, or construction

  • Experience with implementation or execution of design documents

  • Experience with reviewing design documentation and identifying deficiencies, inaccuracies, and noncompliance issues with the design intent

  • Knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs)

  • Ability to evaluate conditions and draft engineering memos that provide sounds engineering guidance consistent with industry best practices and all current Federal, State and Local codes

  • Ability to work with minimal oversight

  • Ability to review and perform engineering calculations

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph 

  • HS diploma or GED 

Additional Qualifications:   

  • Experience with managing project design or construction efforts, to include schedule, funding, and day-to-day project oversight 

  • Experience with MAXIMO 

  • Experience with new and existing building systems and site surveys and calculations 

  • Knowledge of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, International Electrical Testing Association, National Electrical Code and other pertinent NFPA publications related to electrical systems 

  • Knowledge of the CAD systems, AutoCAD, or REVIT 

  • Ability to oversee and coordinate activities with the trade shops, including prioritization of work, review of ongoing projects, and inspection of installed equipment 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Registration

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification  

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
