Aviation Technical Operations Project Manager and Advisor, Lead

Key Role:

Provide high-level technical input and support to analyze a complex system of air traffic control systems, including communications, navigation, surveillance, and automation using engineering, operations, and program management knowledge. Use extensive aviation operations expertise to address the federal government's operations and implementation challenges. Serve as a business advisor, leveraging prior experience with the FAA Technical Operations organization. Provide insights into market assessments, client assessments, and strategic planning efforts in support of expanding specific client-based opportunity portfolios and pipeline. Develop new business leads and identify strategic partnerships for growth and entry into new markets. Work with business groups and account managers to identify customer requirements and to devise and socialize potential solutions with the customer. Facilitate solution development in response to requests for proposals, including defining the problem space, discovery and elicitation of the customer vision, and the overall technical solution. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience working with FAA’s Technical Operations organization

  • Experience leading, planning, and managing interdisciplinary teams to address complex challenges faced by FAA’s Technical Operations

  • Knowledge of Air traffic control (ATC) systems design, integration, implementation, and operations and maintenance

  • Ability to demonstrate technical leadership and thought leadership related to air traffic technical operations

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • HS diploma or GED and 20+ years of experience in engineering, ATC systems implementation, integration, systems design, development, operations and maintenance or Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in engineering, ATC systems implementation, integration, systems design, development, operations and maintenance

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with federal government consulting

  • Knowledge of FAA Technical Operations programs associated with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), commercial space transportation, cyber protection, and integration of emerging technologies in the NAS

  • Knowledge of implementation requirements, engineering, testing, production, logistics support, financial, and planning processes employed in the lifecycle of NAS programs

  • Knowledge of aviation infrastructure and sustainment requirements associated with U.S. aviation systems

  • Ability to mentor other aviation professionals


Applicants selected may be subject to a government investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client.

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is $110,000 to $130,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
