Instructional System Designer and Trainer, Senior

Key Role:

Conduct in-depth job-task analysis or needs assessment to identify learning objectives and determine training solutions and other performance enhancement solutions, including knowledge reinforcement, role clarity, or job aids. Consult with managers and various team members to develop individual training program goals, overall program objectives, and course or module objectives. Apply expertise in instructional design theory to design course content, including working with subject matter experts, management, trainers, and e-Learning specialists. Create new training programs from scratch with some manager guidance, starting with conducting a formal analysis of training needs. Leverage expertise in adult learning theory to identify appropriate training media and methodologies based on audience course content and the learning process. Design course content for traditional classroom, online classroom, self-paced, and e-Learning modules or a blend of approaches and train methodologies that include group lectures, role play, simulation exercises, self-study, on-the-job training, and computer-based training. Research, select, and modify existing training curriculum, content, materials, and job aids, to meet learning needs and develop learning deliverables using tools such as Adobe Captivate, Storyline, Camtasia, Articulate 360 or Rise 360, and the Microsoft Office suite.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with curriculum design and development for instructor-led and online delivery

-Experience with Section 508 requirements and training and evaluation models, including Kirkpatrick and ADDIE

-Experience with developing course material and assessment techniques that meet defined learning objectives

-Knowledge of applying adult learning principles and appropriate instructional design techniques to achieve preferred outcomes for quality program educational activities

-Ability to be a self-starter and work independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and analyze complex material

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA degree
