Managing Editor

Key Role:

Direct and execute the branded content strategy for Booz Allen Hamilton by overseeing and connecting all facets of the content ecosystem, including both external and internal from public marketing initiatives to employee engagement narratives. Apply expertise in digital-first omni-channel approaches to content and channel optimization, brand consistency, segmentation and personalization, analytics, and meaningful measurement. Work with marketers, demand generation strategists, and the analytics lead to leverage market, employee, audience, competitor, channel, and content performance data to generate story ideas, develop content themes or topics, and identify formats to engage audiences to drive action. Develop and maintain an agile and responsive firm-wide content editorial calendar that identifies and tracks content activities and timelines by working with leaders across the firm at the corporate and business level. Manage and develop a team of writers and freelancers by assigning and editing content to ensure the delivery of high-quality, brand-aligned engaging strategic content to meet business goals. Serve as editor for primary internal and external web hubs, including OneVoice.bah.com and BoozAllen.com and provide editorial guidance across different stakeholder communications, including clients, careers or recruitment, compliance, or analysts. Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content, including online, social media, e-mail, mobile, video, print, and in-person.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience as a respected leader in digital, multichannel content creation and branded content strategy
  • Experience with creating compelling messages and personalized content for different target demographics
  • Experience with creating business marketing and communications in a B2B/B2G environment with a focus on advanced technology topics
  • Experience with project management, including managing editorial schedules and deadlines within corporate and ongoing campaigns and a team of content creators
  • Experience with using content performance monitoring, evaluation, and application to drive content strategy and creation
  • Experience with editorial work, including both long-form content creation and real-time content creation and distribution strategies and tactics
  • Experience in an editorial role for digital publications with an annual reach ranging between 26,000 – 1.2M unique visitors
  • Experience with omni-channel, multi-format content creation and dissemination focusing on digital experience, including new and emerging technology.
  • Experience with enterprise technologies for content creation, production, management, and measurement, including Kapost, MOZ, Adobe Experience Manager/CMS, Google Analytics, or Adobe Analytics
  • BA or BS degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or Marketing

  • Experience with applying research and content strategies
  • Experience with creating content for professional services
  • Experience with covering advanced technology topics, including digital solutions, IT modernization, Cybersecurity, AI, analytics, and engineering
  • Experience with developing strategies for testing and evaluating content performance across platforms, against personas, and in accordance with key business drivers
  • Experience with developing and applying standards and systems for agile and responsive content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval, and content repurposing, including the real-time implementation of content strategies
  • Knowledge of how to tell a story and create content that draws an audience using words, images, or audio
  • MA or MBA with a concentration in a marketing or business strategy field
