Key Role:
Provide technical support to the LPD-17 Class Ship Design Management Team throughout multiple phases of the ship’s life cycle, including design, acquisition, and post-delivery as part of an auxiliary systems engineering team. Review test procedures for accuracy and completeness and provide recommendations on updates and approval and disapproval to the program office. Manage a problem report (PR) database and track items for the design integration manager. Create, review, and edit engineering design packages, including ECRs, CRs, PR, and SCDs on outstanding ship and fleet issues and provide recommendations of concurrence to the ship design manager. Identify and analyze LPD 28AF risk items, provide mitigation solutions to ISEA, tech warrant holders, and systems engineering managers, and perform other duties, as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
-4+ years of experience in professional engineering or in US Navy or Marine Corp.
-Experience with shipboard systems
-Experience with preparing and delivering technical briefs to senior-level management
-Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
-Ability to read and interpret engineering design drawings, including Chill Water, Fire Main, HVAC, or Compartment Maps
-Active Secret clearance
-BS degree in Engineering
Additional Qualifications:
-Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-BS degree in Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, ME, Systems Engineering, or a related field preferred; MS degree in Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, ME, Systems Engineering, or a related field a plus
Clearance:
