UX Strategist

The Opportunity:

Are you looking to transform the way a user interacts with federal government systems? You know that a good system is more than just the code, infrastructure, and a nice-looking interface—it’s the way it addresses a user’s needs. As a UX strategist, you put yourself in the user’s place to understand the best ways they can engage with the system. We’re looking for someone creative like you to develop the ultimate user experience.

In this role, you’ll guide the team to understand your clients’ vision and their users’ needs. As a UX strategist, you’ll act as a storyteller, translating research into actionable user insights. You’ll oversee the full spectrum of the digital creative process, including user research, information architecture, rapid prototyping, interface design, and product implementation and development. Your experience will help you advocate for the prioritizations of design-centered changes, refinements, and improvements while keeping the end-user at the center of your work.

Are you ready to help our clients meet their mission by creating an intuitive and effective user-experience?

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in UX from concept to delivery, ensuring seamless, engaging, and innovative user experiences
  • Experience leading user feedback sessions and testing, both in-person and virtually, writing screeners, testing scripts, taking notes, and writing reports
  • Experience with the creation of high-fidelity mockups, wireframes, and prototypes that seamlessly translate into production-ready code, enhance user interactions, and create user flows
  • Experience supporting design strategy presentations to internal teams and stakeholders
  • Experience with Figma and working on Agile or Scrum teams
  • Experience leading UI/UX design teams and collaborating with cross-functional teams of developers, product owners, internal stakeholders, and federal agency stakeholders to align design with user wants, product goals, compliance requirements, and technical feasibility
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and present ideas clearly
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with the USWDS
  • Knowledge of 508 compliance
  • Knowledge of human-centered design methodology or design thinking principles
  • Ability to collaborate with the product owner and liaise between the technical team and the client to establish a common understanding of requirements and design
