Technical Engineering Manager

Key Role:

Assist the program manager with the research and development of hardware projects within a corporate program, including prototype design, build and testing cycles. Apply advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise in systems, electrical and mechanical planning and risk mitigation. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems suitable for an operational environment and tempo. Work without considerable direction and mentor or supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with hardware development programs

  • Experience with managing an organizational project to ensure requirements are understood, defined, implemented, accepted and accomplished within the set deadline and budget

  • Experience with managing teams of 5+ technical and support staff

  • Experience with creating verbal and written communication products for clients, including presentations and whitepapers

  • Experience with Risk Assessment and Management processes

  • Knowledge of contract and program management principles and best practices, including management of work scope, schedules, costs, risks, quality, personnel, and procurement

  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management, Government cost accounting and reporting processes, and quality audit procedures

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with leading program proposal activities for complex technical solutions

  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management, Government cost accounting and reporting processes, and quality audit procedures

  • Certification in Program or Project Management
