Key Role:
Maintain responsibility for all Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) duties in support of Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503. Have knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53 security controls and the Committee on National Security Systems Instruction 1253. Provides systems security engineering or architecture principles in support of the DoD RMF, such as the specification, design, development, implementation, and modification of information system components. Select, tailor, and implement NIST SP 800-53 security controls in support of RMF Assessment and Authorization (A&A) requirements. Develop layered protections and establish cybersecurity Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or guidelines in support of security engineering practices for the organization’s authorization boundary. Understand and apply system development life cycle principles, such as Agile or Waterfall and duties include delineating physical and logical security boundaries, ensuring that software developers are trained on how to build secure software, running security vulnerability scans, specifically with the DoD’s Assured Compliance and Assessment Solution (ACAS) while generating and interpreting vulnerability scans, implementing Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) and CIS Benchmarks, and other duties associated with RMF Continuous Monitoring, such as remediating or mitigating findings and vulnerabilities on system POA&Ms.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as an Information Systems Security Engineer
Knowledge of cybersecurity tools, such as ACAS, STIGs, SCAPs, or CIS Benchmarks
Knowledge of hardware and software security implementation, such as NIST SP 800-53 security controls
Experience with encryption techniques and tools
Top Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree
Security Architect Certifications including IAW DoD Directive 8140.01, such as the CompTIA CASP, Cisco CCSP, or SANS GSEC
Additional Qualifications:
Experience in USCYBERCOM or the Intelligence Community
Master's degree in CS, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, EE, ME, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or Management Information Systems Technology
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
