Job Description
The Opportunity:
At a certain point, experience-based system design can start to look like clairvoyance. When you’ve developed so many systems that you can not only orchestrate the best solution for any technology-based challenge, but you can also anticipate and preempt future issues, you’re a solutions architect. You’ve evolved your skills into strategy through a long path of software development accomplishments and the curiosity to understand how all the pieces of an IT ecosystem fit together. Are you ready to use your combination of knowledge, skill, and experience to take on the toughest challenges in the DoD?
As a solutions architect on our team, you'll translate your customer’s IT needs and future goals into a plan by crafting solutions using modern front‑end frameworks, back‑end services, and AWS‑native data and compute services to deliver robust, secure, and compliant mission applications for users. Through your leadership, we’ll help transform the way DoD uses technology including cloud migration, integrating advanced technology, and modernizing legacy systems. And what do you do next in a career where you’ve reached this level? You mentor the next set of developers to help them grow into tomorrow’s solutions architects. As a technical leader, you’ll shape the digital solutions business and identify opportunities for growth.
Work with us and build the future of technology in DoD for the better.
Join us. The world can’t wait.
You Have:
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering full‑stack software solutions in support of major defense or federal programs, including integration with enterprise data platforms
- 10+ years of experience applying comprehensive software lifecycle processes, including requirements assessment, architecture, implementation, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization in cloud environments
- 10+ years of experience working with artificial intelligence, large language model technologies, and agent‑based and generative AI tools, including integrating them into production applications via secure APIs and services
- Knowledge of modern front‑end frameworks, such as React, Angular, or Vue, and responsive web application design for presenting complex analytical content sourced from enterprise data platforms to end users
- Knowledge of server‑side development using languages such as Python, Java, C#, or Node.js, including building secure RESTful APIs and microservices that integrate with data and analytics capabilities
- Knowledge of database design and development, including SQL and NoSQL, and methods for preparing, aligning, and enhancing large program datasets for high‑level analysis, including use of AWS data services and integration patterns
- Ability to architect, implement, and maintain highly reliable full‑stack solutions that curate, surface, and operationalize complex or difficult datasets and AI outputs for reliable and actionable results
- Ability to develop solutions that maximize data and AI value across analytical, operational, and policy‑support workflows, including applying DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated quality controls in AWS environments
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in a computer science, software engineering, data science, analytics, or technology field
Nice If You Have:
- Experience supporting large defense‑related programs or policy review initiatives, including with ADVANA, CDAO analytical tools, or similar DoD enterprise data platforms
- Experience designing and operating solutions on AWS, including use of services such as AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS or EKS, Amazon RDS or Redshift, Amazon S3, and AWS IAM in secure, regulated environments
- Experience with advanced automation of software delivery, including infrastructure‑as‑code, such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, containerization, such as Docker, and orchestration, such as Kubernetes or EKS, aligned to DevSecOps practices
- Experience with modern artificial intelligence and data platforms used by the DoD, including ADVANA community spaces and related analytics tooling, and emerging generative AI techniques
- Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, analytics, engineering, or a related field
