Defense Force Protection Planner

The Opportunity:

As an expert in defense missions, your unique background inspires you to think bigger, push further, and ask questions others don’t. We need your extensive industry knowledge and advisory skills to solve some of our clients’ most complex problems—and find solutions that keep our nation safe. As a Defense and Force Protection Planner, you’ll bring your leadership, subject matter expertise, planning and consulting expertise to work alongside thought leaders on projects for the Indo-Pacific Area of Responsibility. You’ll use your skills and expertise to facilitate Operational Planning Teams (OPTs), bureaus, boards, cells, conferences, and working groups and respond to or the creation of Requests for Information (RFI). You will contribute to the development, analysis, and evaluation of processes and systems related to client requirements. You will support related initiatives and requirements, including institutional and operational level security cooperation capacity building events, organizational assessment, and input into higher headquarters efforts. You'll contribute to the synchronization of efforts in a matrix organization with multiple functional areas and provide written reports and briefs for senior military audiences. You Have:  

  • 5+ years of experience with the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) or Joint Planning Process

  • 3+ years of experience on with operational planning at the Corps, Theater, Combatant Command or Joint level Staff

  • Experience with national security challenges in the Indo-Pacific theater

  • Knowledge of US Army Protection Warfighting Function, Homeland Defense Planning and Multi-Domain Operations

  • Knowledge of Critical Infrastructure Risk, Vulnerability Management Programs and the DOD Risk Management Program

  • Ability to deliver oral and written presentations to senior leaders

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience as an Antiterrorism Officer (ATO) and conducting mission assurance assessment or DoD inspections of installations

  • Experience with the data entry and management of Critical Assets and the Strategic Mission Assurance Data System (SMADS)

  • Knowledge of Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) planning

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
