5G Security Software Engineer

The Opportunity: 

Are you looking for an opportunity to enhance your software development skillset? Do you have an interest in all things emerging tech? Use your knowledge to write and optimize code that will support Booz Allen’s cutting-edge 5G work. We are looking for a software engineer like you to develop technology for our client’s most important mission-forward challenges.  

This role is more than just coding. As a software design and development engineer at Booz Allen, you will use your passion to learn new tools and techniques to help clients overcome their most difficult challenges. Using the latest technology, you will write, test, and edit code in support of the development of systems, sites, and tools for the team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting software programs for computer-based systems. Applies specific functional and working industry knowledge to develop innovative solutions to complex problems. As required, provides inputs for documentation of new or existing programs. Verifies accuracy and completeness of programs by preparing sample data, conducting program tests, analyzing test results and debugging program errors.

You Have: 

  • Experience with Unix/Linux development 

  • Experience with Python development 

  • Experience with C or C++ development 

  • Experience developing network software 

  • Knowledge of source control, such as GIT 

  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, or EE and 3 years of experience with basic programming languages, technologies, tools, and web development stacks, or 6+ years of experience with basic programming languages, technologies, tools, and web development stacks in lieu of degree 

Nice If You Have: 

  • Knowledge of telecommunication protocols, architecture, and processes 

  • Experience with network and vulnerability analysis tools, such as Wireshark and tcpdump, Nmap, Nessus, OpenVAS, and Metasploit 

  • Knowledge of next generation networking solutions, such as Software Defined Networking (SDN) or Network Function Virtualization (NFV)  

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Clearance:

 Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
