Test Engineer

The Opportunity: 

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development, and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.   

You’ll support development, application, and integration of electromagnetic (EM) testing capabilities. You’ll analyze EM effects on subsystems and components, and support the development of EM electronic system effects tools. You’ll provide technical guidance on electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and high power electromagnetic (HPEM) test planning, test execution, and data analysis, and EMP and HPEM hardening or mitigation solutions. You’ll lead the development and execution of a portfolio of software, hardware, and testing projects. You’ll research new DoD EMP survivability requirements and translate technology areas and concepts to client mission sets. You’ll provide technical writing and advice on MIL-STDs, MIL-HDBKS, test plans, technical reports, security classification guides, and whitepapers in support of EM test efforts. 

Work with us as we develop software solutions for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) and Nuclear Command, Control, and Communication (NC3) mission sets.

You Have: 

  • 7+ years of experience in the nuclear defense industry 
  • 5+ years of experience in a physical science or engineering field, including nuclear or electrical engineering
  • Experience conducting EMP verification assessments 
  • Experience with EM technologies and methodologies 
  • Experience with technical writing 
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Nuclear Engineering, or a Physical Science or Engineering field 

Nice If You Have: 

  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Nuclear Engineering, or a related Physical Science or Engineering field 

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
