Machine Learning Software Engineer

The Opportunity: 

As a programmer, you know that machine learning (ML) is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct statistical analyses on business processes using ML techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve to support federal AI infrastructure. As an ML engineer on our Strategic Innovation team, you’ll train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data.  

In this role, you’ll contribute to the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and technologies. You’ll grow within a large community of ML engineers across the firm and collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and product owners to deliver world-class solutions to deliver solutions to real world problems through ML algorithms and systems. Your consulting skills and technical experience will help your clients navigate the landscape of ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks.

You Have:  

  • Experience in a dashboard development, data science, MLOps, DevOps, software engineering, data research, or application development role
  • Experience with natural language processing, deep learning, reinforcement learning, or computer vision project work
  • Experience with developing in Java, Python, C++, or Go 
  • Experience with scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby
  • Knowledge of container networking, monitoring, and storage solutions
  • Ability to develop infrastructure-as-code, including activities around the automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, or monitoring and testing, including CI/CD
  • Secret clearance  
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:  

  • 2+ years of experience with container tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, or Rancher
  • 2+ years of experience deploying Kubernetes in a platform or cloud offering, including GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes for DoD operations
  • Experience using or migrating CI/CD pipeline solutions or tools, including GitLab
  • Experience with system integration using a variety of protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML
  • Knowledge of cloud and virtualization-based technologies, including Docker, Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Knowledge of Linux or UNIX administration and automation, and foundational system administration principles
  • Knowledge of classified environment processes and protocols
  • Kubernetes Certification

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
