Configuration Manager, Senior

Key Role:

Leverage expertise in configuration management (CM) processes within the planning, design, implementation, testing, and release phases of a developmental and operational systems life cycle for both hardware and software. Identify configuration items (CI) and implement change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits. Participate in review boards and process change proposals and enforce change management requirements. Work on a team to create and maintain software, hardware, and documentation configuration baselines, including development, testing, and production. Modify CM plans and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system. Implement CM disciplines for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements and capabilities baselines to system end-of-life. Interact with engineering, development, testing, cybersecurity, support, and help desk teams daily to capture change requests and maintain authorized baseline configurations for lifecycle support. Track all problems and changes in product documents and software and report changes, and control standard operating procedures and configurations. Interface with vendors and other contractors to forecast changes to hardware and software configurations and facilitate distribution to development, engineering, and cybersecurity teams, as necessary. Use or recommend automated CM tools to support the implementation of CM policies and procedures. Conduct quality assurance on all CM developed and deliverable products, manage and input information within CM and logistics tools, and generate consolidated reports reflecting hardware, software, and logistics information. Work individually on CM tasks or projects to ensure project completion, and implement or enhance and maintain a CM database to provide streamlined operations and maintenance. Apply advanced consulting skills or extensive technical expertise, including full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience using CM tools
  • Experience chairing or contributing to a change control board (CCB)
  • Experience streamlining CM processes to maintain a robust process with continuous improvement to speed up the process
  • Knowledge of CM standards
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cameo or MagicDraw
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent organizational skills

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
