Digital Manufacturing Engineer

Key Role:

Serves as the Digital Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in the emerging field of Digital Manufacturing and Digital Engineering. Maintains responsibility for integrating modeling and simulation activities into program planning, manufacturing, and engineering efforts across the organization's portfolio. Provides consistent analyses to support decisions throughout the programmatic life cycle. Maintains product consistency by integrating models, data and artifacts within the system and external program dependencies, provide a comprehensive view of the programs, and increase efficiency and confidence throughout the programmatic life cycle. Increases proficiencies and investments across the portfolio by shaping modeling, digital manufacturing, and digital engineering providing assessments through the mapping of the specified Portfolio products and processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with supporting the design, development, and review of systems engineering design and management through the life cycle
  • Experience with architecting solutions from user requirements and use cases to be applied across the systems engineering life cycle
  • Experience with requirements management tools, such as IBM DOORS NG or Jama Connect, and using MBSE tools, such as MagicDraw or Cameo, IBM Rhapsody, or Sparx EA
  • Experience with analytical tools, such as MATLAB, STK, or ModelCenter
  • Knowledge of core systems and digital engineering concepts regarding the use of engineering models across the lifecycle, authoritative lifecycle data, digital threads, and digital twins
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, dynamic team environment, including internal staff, external contractors, and government clients, to increase the use of MBSE for client acquisitions programs, perform multiple systems engineering and program management functions in support of product design development and reviews, identify and manage technical risks, develop technical reports, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement recommended solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with DoD acquisitions and digital transformation
  • Experience with conceptualizing military problems, decomposing high-level missions systems modeling, and developing detailed designs in a systems model to support product development
  • Experience developing safety critical applications based on standards, such as ARP-4754, ARP-4761, DO-178, DO-254, and MIL-STD-882
  • Experience with supporting engineering tools, including PLM/PDM, such as TeamCenter or Windchill, digital engineering, such as SBE Vision or Syndeia, modeling and simulation, such as ModelCenter or Dassault 3DS, and CAD, such as SolidWorks or CATIA
  • Experience with defining a digital engineering ecosystem, including the underlining infrastructure, tool selection, process development, and utilization
  • Knowledge of linking analytical and engineering tools in a digital thread
  • Knowledge of modular open systems approach (MOSA) design principles and technologies, DoD architecture standards and framework, and Agile systems engineering methods and tools
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) process and standards
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certifications, including ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP
  • OMG Certified Systems Modelling Professional (OCSMP) certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
